Describe-Tell what you see Analyze-Use the element/principles to reflect upon the art form Interpret-What is the artist trying to say, what cause the artist to say it, what is the historical reference that it has, what was the work of art created in this particular style Evaluate-How successful or important is the work of art I see a lot of hearts forming the letter L in love. In this piece there was a lot of unity, shape, space, and form that it reflected upon. The artist was trying to say that everyone has their own way in showing love and that it's powerful in their own way. The artist wanted equality which caused her to say this. The historical reference is gay pride. This piece was created in the word love with hearts making the letters. This piece was very successful and important. I chose a cinemagraph for my project and I chose it because I thought it would be cool. It started out pretty hard actually until we got the hang of it then it was easy the rest of the way. I found our creativity most successful about this piece. I would change what we did next time.
I used pencil as my medium, I traced the head and added value after. This is a picture of my dad and I chose him because I look up to him.
Ben Grimes made his piece of his grandparents. Ben used newspaper as his medium on top of a canvas. His plan was to give it to his grandparents and he did so he is finished with it.
I made a scrafitto tray and I made it by carving clay, glazing and firing it in a kiln. First I smashed clay and rolled it flat, then I cut the clay into a tray shape glazed and carved it. It was then put into the kiln and after I painted it the tray went back into the kiln. My last piece inspired me to create this piece. I think my carving is most successful in my piece but I would change the way I molded my piece. I might sign up for sculpture class
In this process I was given a linoleum and I traced my picture and carved it into my linoleum. Then I rolled ink onto my linoleum and cut paper and pressed it against my linoleum. I repeated that part 5 times. I incorporated the theme of line in my piece by carving lines. I found the detail in my piece successful but if I were to change something I would have flipped the S.
The idea of our installation was to represent love in different ways as it all comes together. This installation was successful by everyone having a part in it. If we were to change it I would want to put more color into it
All of the mediums I used were fun except for the charcoal, the advantages for the pen and pencil were that they were easy to use but the charcoal not so much. The disadvantages were that with the pen and charcoal you couldn't really mess up but with the pencil you could.
